The guardian angel prayer, short enough for a two year old.
A prayer to the angel God has given each person to guard them.
When: On waking and at bedtime. The Church keeps the feast of the Guardian Angels on 2 October.
Why: Jesus said the angels of little ones always see the face of the Father (Matthew 18:10). Children can pray this before they can read.
Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.
