The blessing of the table, said together before eating.
A short blessing asking God to bless the people at the table and the food they are given.
When: Before every meal, at home or out, with the Sign of the Cross before and after.
Why: It remembers where the food came from three times a day, and it makes the table the family’s most frequent place of prayer.
Bless us, O Lord, and these thy gifts, which we are about to receive from thy bounty, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
